Discover the “Arab Pearl”, Bahrain.
The Kingdom of Bahrain (translated from Arabic as “two seas”) is the only Arab island state, the pearl of the Middle East, which includes 33 islands located in the western part of the Arabian Gulf.
The capital of Bahrain impresses with its landscapes and its unusual contrasts. This wonderful city, from ancient monuments and magnificent museums to ultra-modern shopping malls, will not fail to amaze you.
The oriental flavor and traditions of the ancient Arab city combine harmoniously with the appearance and rhythm of the modern metropolis.
The Sakhir Circuit, built right in the middle of the desert, cannot fail to conquer.
The Bahrain Formula 1 Grand Prix is a true celebration of speed and a great event for all motor racing fans.
Bahrain's natural beauty, which combines a sultry desert, sand dunes and unique flora and fauna, cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
It is not for nothing that, according to biblical legends, the Garden of Eden was located here.
There is something to see and dream about in Bahrain.
Itinerary

𝐒𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐚: The Grand Mosque of Al Fateh
The Al Fateh Mosque is one of the largest mosques in the world and also the largest temple in Bahrain, capable of hosting more than 7,000 worshipers at the same time. It takes its name from Sheikh Ahmed Al Fateh, the Liberator of Bahrain, and is not far from the Royal Palace, residence of the current Ruler of the country.
The enormous dome that crowns the Al Fateh Mosque is made of pure fiberglass and weighs over 60 tons and is currently the largest glass dome in the world.
The mosque has two majestic minarets.
The interior design of the mosque harmoniously echoes the style of the exterior.
In the large hall hangs a chandelier brought from Austria and the walls are painted with quotes from the Koran in one of the ancient Arabic writing styles: Kufi.
Being the main symbol of the city, Al Fateh is one of the places not to be missed.
NOTE – A very important thing to do is take off your shoes, as this is one of the strictest laws in terms of the Muslim religion.
Also avoid wearing revealing clothing for both women and men.
You cannot photograph any ceremonies in progress and it is not possible to stand next to people who are praying, because it is not considered respectful towards them.
It is open from Saturday to Thursday from 9:00 to 16:00, on Fridays only for the faithful.
Duration: 20 minutes

𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐚: The Bahrain International Circuit
It is the stage of the famous races that have been held in Bahrain since 2004 on the Sakhir Circuit, built right in the middle of the desert.
The Circuit opened in 2004 and the Bahrain Grand Prix was the first endurance race held in the Middle East.
The Bahrain Formula 1 Grand Prix is a true celebration of speed and a great event for all racing fans.
The 5.4 km long course features 15 difficult corners and, combined with the heat of the season, is known as one of the toughest races.
Duration: 30 minutes

𝐒𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐚: Burial mounds of the Dilmun culture
Barbar is an iconic landmark of Bahrain about 20 kilometers from the capital Manama.
A complex of 3 ancient Dilmun temples, built on top of each other, dating back to between 3000 and 2000 BC centered around a freshwater spring believed to be dedicated to the Mesopotamian god of wisdom and sweetness.
Duration: 20 minutes

𝐒𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐚: The Tree of Life
A lonely tree in the middle of a sultry desert, on top of a sandy hill that is the symbol of fortitude and love of life.
The Tree of Life, despite the harsh conditions of the desert, resisting the scorching sun, the 50 degree heat and the lack of water, has lived for almost 400 years and reaches a height of over 9 metres.
This long-lived tree has baffled scientists and biologists, although they have developed several theories to explain this phenomenon.
But the locals have their own explanations when it comes to the mystery of the Tree of Life.
Their theory has little to do with science. Ancient Bahraini legends about the Tree of Life say it shows the location of the Garden of Eden.
The Tree of Life is one of Bahrain's most famous attractions.
Duration: 20 minutes

𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐚: Qal'at al-Bahrain
In 2005 this site was included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. The archaeological site showcases the relics of the ancient capital of Dilmun.
The ruins of the fort, city walls and residential buildings can be seen. What makes Qal'at al-Bahrain important is that most of the civilizations that contributed to its growth have almost completely disappeared from human memory.
The excavations currently underway are, perhaps, the last opportunity to learn at least something about these cultures.
Duration: 45 minutes

𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐚: Souk Bab el-Bahrain
It is a traditional souq where you can find almost anything you want.
There are outlets selling snacks, shops selling traditional souvenirs, spices, textiles and jewellery.
It's great to see the different local products on sale and capture Manama life in its purest form.
Duration: 1 hour

𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐚: Bahrain National Museum
This museum traces the history of the country from ancient times to the present day.
The structure of this museum is splendid and houses nine rooms that tell the history and age-old culture of this country, the fulcrum of the trade routes between Mesopotamia and the East.
In particular, you can admire the extremely precious artefacts dating back up to 6000 years ago, ancient documents and Islamic manuscripts, objects of traditional craftsmanship and historical evidence of the ancient manufacturing of pearls.
